Rates According To Availability

Bandwidth rate does not change the semantics of a packet or introduce another flow control variable. It does not affect the existing end-to-end TCP/IP protocol and its algorithms. Additionally, the product is non- intrusive at the Physical and Link layers. If the Aponet device fails or is powered off, it automatically by-passes itself from the ISP's network, resulting in no disruption to the network.

The Bandwidth-Manager is installed between an Ethernet segment and its upstream neighbor, such as a router or a switch. It doesn't require any reconfiguration of networks, changes to clients or servers or changes to existing network architecture. The product simply plugs in and is ready to run with a minimum of maintenance.

Pricing and Availability The Aponet Bandwidth-Manager consists of two components: Bandwidth monitoring / control hardware and Web-based bandwidth reporting software. Two models of hardware include Model 10 which supports 10 Mbps Ethernet and Model 100 which supports 100 Mbps Ethernet.

The hardware consists of two Ethernet ports with RJ-45 connectors, fail-safe auto-bypass feature (two Ethernet ports automatically connect themselves to bypass Aponet bandwidth-Manager hardware if there is no power or a malfunction occurs, maximum throughput of 10 Based-T or 100 Based-T Ethernet capability and book-sized packaging with wall- or rack-mount options.

The web-based bandwidth reporting software features operating system support for SUN Solaris, Windows NT, LINUS Unix and PC-based BSDI, Web Server software support for NCSA Web Server, Netscape Web server, Microsoft Internet Information Server, administrative software to allow ISPs to set up their Aponet, bandwidth-manager, Web hosting customer database and bandwidth limit for each customer.

Aponet Bandwidth-Manager Model 10 supports 10 Mbps Ethernet and is available immediately for $6,750. Aponet Bandwidth-Manager Model 100 will support 100 Mbps Ethernet and will be available in Q3 2008.
